Tenderloin Neighborhood Town Hall with Saikat Chakrabarti
It’s almost cliche how expensive San Francisco has become. But for too many working families — it means getting priced out of the city you love.
Housing and healthcare costs are out of control or unstable. Childcare is unaffordable. Meanwhile, our democracy is under assault by an authoritarian regime.
And how is the Democratic Party responding? With caution, deference to corporate donors, and excuses instead of solutions.
That’s why Saikat is running for Congress — and why we’re excited to invite our Tenderloin neighbors to a different kind of town hall.
This is a space to be honest about what’s broken, what isn’t working in our politics, and what it would actually take to make life more affordable for working people in San Francisco and across the country.
Saikat will share his vision for a Democratic Party that fights — not just against MAGA, but for housing as a right, healthcare as a guarantee, and an economy that works for everyday people instead of corporations and lobbyists.
Most importantly, he’s here to listen. To learn from your lived experience. To get your feedback and talk through real, bold solutions at the scale this moment demands.
If you’re frustrated, hopeful, skeptical, curious — or all of the above — this town hall is for you.
