How Three Students Turned Passion Projects Into Stanford Acceptances
Join us for an intimate dinner with three current Stanford students who transformed authentic interests into impactful initiatives that became central to their college applications. Alongside the counselors who advised them, they'll walk through exactly how their projects evolved, how they were woven throughout their applications, and what lessons other students can apply to their own journeys.
Each student started with a genuine interest: increasing STEM engagement and learning opportunities for diverse youth, advocating for Ukrainian children as they assimilate into new societies, and redefining K-12 education to improve support for underrepresented students. Through thoughtful advising, they transformed those interests into projects that reflected who they were and strengthened their applications.
Over dinner, you'll see:
What each student's project looked like before they began working with Empowerly
The specific advice and strategic changes that shaped the project over time
How each passion project fit into the student's broader application narrative
Where the project appeared throughout the application, from activities and essays to supplemental materials
How these students leveraged their projects to win prestigious national and international honors like the Princess Diana Award and the Princeton Prize in Race Relations, and raise tens of thousands of dollars from organizations like Prudential Finance, the Taco Bell Foundation, the Bill of Rights Institute, and more
What ultimately made each project memorable to admissions officers at Stanford (and several Ivy League Universities) and what other students can learn from the process
You'll also have the opportunity to ask the students candid questions about what worked, what didn't, and how they navigated the admissions process.
