This conversation is designed to help residents better understand how the election works, who is running, the issues being discussed, and how to participate in the democratic process.

Hear from Allister Chang, Ward 2 representative on the DC State Board of Education, and James Barlia, Executive Director of STATION DC, as they discuss:

  • How the June 16 DC primary works and how to vote

  • Who is running in local races and the priorities and policies candidates are discussing

  • The major issues shaping this election and public conversation in DC

  • What the election could mean for DC residents and the city’s future priorities

This is a nonpartisan civic education event. The purpose is to help residents better understand the local political landscape and participate in the democratic process. The discussion will not include endorsements, fundraising, advocacy, or support for any candidate or campaign and is open to people with a broad range of viewpoints.D
