About Event

A 4-hour birth preparation workshop for expectant parents and their partners.

Most birth prep classes teach you what to expect. This one teaches and empowers you and your partner on what to do and how to work with your body during pregnancy, labour and birth for an easier, shorter and more relaxed & comfortable birthing experience.

OMP for Parents is a hands-on, 4-hour workshop with a certified OMP Educator - Alice Worthy - that prepares you for birth through the lens of Optimal Maternal Positioning — the work of understanding how your body, your baby's position, and the way you move in pregnancy and labour all shape your birth experience.

You'll leave with more than information. You'll leave with practical tools, a body that knows what to do, and a partner who knows how to support you.

What you'll learn:
• How your baby's position affects the ease and length of your labour — and what you can do about it in pregnancy
• Positions and movements that create space in your pelvis, encourage optimal baby positioning, and support a smoother birth
• How to recognise and work with common discomforts in late pregnancy (back pain, pelvic pressure, baby feeling "stuck")
• Practical comfort measures and movement strategies for each stage of labour
• How partners can be active, confident support — not just bystanders

Why OMP?
Optimal Maternal Positioning is a framework developed for birth professionals worldwide — midwives, doulas, doctors, and physiotherapists — to support better birth outcomes through movement, positioning, and biomechanical understanding. This workshop brings that same knowledge directly to you, the people actually giving birth.

Who this is for: Expectant parents and their birth partners. Ideally attended in the second or third trimester, though earlier is welcome. Partners are strongly encouraged to attend — this work is designed for two.

About your educator: Alice Worthy of The Modern Doula and you can find her on Instagram.

Spaces are limited to keep the workshop intimate and hands-on. RSVP early to secure your spot.
