Coaching Teams in Uncertain Times: Research, Practice, and Global Perspectives
Uncertainty has become a familiar part of life for teams, leaders, coaches, and organizations. Yet uncertainty is not experienced, interpreted, or responded to in the same way everywhere.
Join EMCC Finland and the EMCC Global Team Coaching Centre for Excellence for an interactive event exploring uncertainty through multiple lenses, including research, practice, culture, and real-world experience.
Facilitators and contributors from Finland and the international EMCC community will share perspectives and emerging thinking on topics such as decision-making, team coaching, leadership, and working in complex environments. Participants will have opportunities to engage in small-group conversations, reflect with peers, and contribute to the collective exploration of the topic.
Current themes under development include:
Theme 1 – Finnish research and perspectives on decision-making in uncertainty, and what this may mean for team coaching and team development
Theme 2 – Leading from the Circle: How North America's Best Teams Are Ditching the Hierarchy
High-performing teams operate differently. They build a culture where every member shows up with a sense of ownership, where challenge is met with collective problem-solving, and where the community around the table is stronger than any single leader above it. We'll unpack how team coaching within the circle, not from the top of a hierarchy, builds the psychological safety, trust, and shared accountability that today's executive teams demand.
Theme 3: Cultural perspectives on uncertainty and how they shape team experiences and responses
Rather than offering a single answer to uncertainty, this event aims to create space for dialogue, curiosity, and learning across different contexts and perspectives.
The topic is uncertainty, so it feels fitting that parts of the program are still evolving! What we can promise is an engaging mix of global perspectives, participant dialogue, and team coaching conversations on a topic that affects us all.
