About Event

Have you ever regretted a morning run that ends with free coffee and making new friends in SF? We haven't ;)

Come join us for a free sunrise run along one of the most beautiful routes in San Francisco. We'll meet at 7am, run roughly 5k, and end with a live DJ set scoring the sunrise, plus free coffee and snacks. Come with your crew or come solo, this is designed to be the kind of morning where you leave knowing more people than you did before the run!

What to expect:

  • ~3 mile casual run that's an out-and-back (optional + choose your own distance)

  • Free coffee (Thanks to Slow Street Coffee)

  • Free Snacks & DJ set after the run

  • Meet people San Francisco running

  • Optional Cortisol Experiment! Want to see how running impacts your cortisol? We'll be running a case study experiment, where we collect your saliva before and after the run to measure the impact of running on your cortisol.

The details:

  • Meet: Marina District SF

  • Time: 7:00 AM

  • There will be parking and a bathroom nearby

  • Dress for the 'SF summer'

Why sunrise? Why together? There's lots of science behind why it's so important to start your day with movement in early morning light. Sunlight in the first hour after waking triggers your cortisol awakening response, the natural hormonal signal that sets your circadian rhythm and anchors your energy and mood for the rest of the day. It's one of the most powerful levers you have to impact your health.

Most people already know they should get outside in the morning. The hard part is having the motivation to do it! One of the most powerful motivators is someone expecting you to show up or a friend who texted "see you at 7."

We're running a decentralized N=10 experiment to understand how running impacts your cortisol. Early Bird Price is $49 and $55 from 2 days in advance of the event. Only 10 spots available! So buy your ticket early if you want to be part of it.

✨ Pace Matching!! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

We'll match you with a runner in your neighborhood based on your pace, goals, and schedule, and your input helps shape the feature as we build it! Sign up here.

About the hosts

Novara

Novara is a social health platform launching in San Francisco built on a simple belief: the healthiest thing you can do is show up for other people, and the hardest part is coordinating it. Novara helps runners find partners, discover events around your schedule, and build real-world trust with the people they run with. In a world where digital connection is everywhere but real connection is harder than ever, Novara is the infrastructure layer that removes the friction between wanting to get out the door and actually doing it.

Founded by Jacky Minkler, former D1 runner, Ironman finisher, and product leader with nearly two decades of experience building software. She built Novara because what she needed as a runner and as a woman didn't exist: intentional connection around the things you love, with the safety and motivation of a partner who's counting on you. Not more noise filling your calendar.
