Dear Jane Doe: women's support circle
Dear Jane Doe: A gentle space to share difficult feelings, feel heard and understood, find comfort in one another, and make room for hope.
Topics in the news can bring up difficult feelings for many of us, and sometimes we need to bring ourselves off the screens and find support and comfort in real life to remind ourselves how to move forward.
Rather than a place to be expected to solve issues bigger than us, this discussion is aimed to help us feel less alone, and hear and support one another in a time that might feel frightful.
What can I expect?
A guided group discussion followed by a personal letter-writing activity. Everything is optional, and the focus is less on solutions and more on listening.
Why is there a participation fee?
Ideally this event would be free, but the ¥300 fee helps reduce no-shows, especially as the spaces will be very limited. We kindly ask for everyone to purcahse at least ne drink each to support the venue.
Can I join even if I don't identify as a woman?
This space welcomes women and non-binary people who feels personally affected and connected to the experiences we're discussing.
What if I feel overwhelmed?
We'll avoid graphic details, and you're always welcome to simply listen, take a break, or step outside whenever you need.
