This April, Dr. Salva sat in a room in Salzburg with dermatology specialists from across the world. Only three came from the entire African continent, and one of them was a young Tanzanian still seeing patients and teaching in Moshi. She has since presented in Rome, visited La Roche-Posay's centre in France, and completed a cosmetic fellowship in Dallas, all without leaving clinical practice or moving abroad.
Most clinicians never hear that these rooms exist, let alone learn how to get selected or how to pay for the trip. This conversation is about exactly that.
