We begin somewhere unexpected: with the German you already speak. Haus. Hand. Wasser. Garten. Butter. Familie. Over a hundred words you have known your whole life without realising they were German. You will read them and understand every single one. That is the moment most people stop being afraid.
Then the letters. Five small rules just five -and suddenly the wall becomes a page you can read. Words you have never seen before will come out of your mouth correctly. Not guessed. Correct.
By the middle of the hour you will be greeting people the way Berlin actually greets the right word for the morning, the right word for a stranger, the right word for a friend. Small things that make a German person look up and think this one has been taught properly.
And then the part you will remember. You will write five lines. Your name, where you are from, where you live, what you do, what you are learning. Your own introduction, in German, in your own words. You will type it in the chat and hear it read back and corrected by name, out loud, as it should be.
You walk in with nothing. You walk out able to introduce yourself in a language you have never studied. Then imagine what eighty hours does.
