About Event

Two hours of moving through golden hour. Fort Mason up to Lafayette Park and back, on foot, with a small group of people who'd rather feel something than scroll something.

The gist

You already know movement matters. You're just tired of doing it alone in a room.

This is somatic movement — moving from the inside out, attention on how it feels instead of how it looks. No choreography. No mirrors. Nothing to get right.

Why "Shadow"

Golden hour. Long light. The shapes we throw on the grass.

Also Jung. The shadow is everything we've pushed out of view. Most of that work happens in words, in a chair. But bodies hold what language can't reach, and moving is the most accessible way back into feeling — no vocabulary required.

Most of us spend the day still, lit by a screen, barely in the physical company of another human. This is the counterbalance. We practice feeling as we move. And we practice being good partners to each other: witnessing without fixing, supporting without taking over.

Movement jam, not therapy. Nothing here asks you to dig. Whatever surfaces is yours to keep or flow with.

The route

Opening circle — Fort Mason. Names, mobility, grounding. Shake the day off.

The walk up — A mile to Lafayette Park. Uphill, unhurried, on purpose.

Partner games + improv — Playful, low stakes, weirdly good for the nervous system. Peak shadow hour.

The walk down — Quieter. Unstructured.

Closing circle — Short. Then food, if you're in.

Come as you are

No experience needed, no fitness bar. Everything is an invitation — scale it up, scale it down, sit one out.

Bring shoes you can walk a mile in, a layer for when the fog shows up, and water. No mat.
