Community-led Health Systems in an Interconnected World

Across global health, there is growing recognition that strong community health systems are essential to achieving Universal Health Coverage. Yet the question remains: what does it take to build systems that are both locally led and resilient at scale?

This session explores how coalition-driven approaches can strengthen community health systems, drawing on real-world experience from Kenya’s CHU4UHC coalition—a collective of 20+ actors advancing community health systems in partnership with the Ministry of Health, grounded in evidence and shared learning.

Designed as a dynamic and interactive conversation, the session will bring together frontline perspectives, cross-sector dialogue, and case studies to surface practical lessons in service delivery, coalition building, government ownership, and community-led accountability. Participants will hear how government, civil society, funders, and community health workers are working together to strengthen systems through collaboration and evidence-informed practice.

At its core, the session aims to create a shared learning space where participants can exchange perspectives, reflect on what is working, and explore how similar approaches, grounded in evidence and partnership, might be adapted across different contexts.
