[Fungal Futures] Mycelium Fabrication Workshop Pt. I

​Fungal Futures is a two-part, hands-on workshop inviting you to get dirty with fungi and imagine new possibilities for urban ecologies. Together, we’ll explore mycelium—the living, underground networks of fungi—as a regenerative material for healing cities and cultivating collective care.

​In the first session, participants will be introduced to the powerful world of mycelium and collaborate to fabricate biodegradable planters using organic waste and living fungi. Expect experimentation, conversation, and a tactile encounter with growth in real time.

​The second session (April 4, 2026) brings these forms to life. Participants will plant native species, grounding material play in ecological stewardship and local restoration efforts at Bushwick Inlet Park.

​No prior experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to learn together. All backgrounds are welcome, and we strongly encourage joining both sessions on February 7 and April 4 to experience the full lifecycle of the work.
