From Self to System
How do lasting systems change actually happen?
Many of us are working to create healthier communities, organizations, and societies, yet we often focus on changing structures without examining the invisible patterns that shape how we think, relate, and participate within them.
This workshop offers an introduction to the Self to System framework, a lens for understanding the relationship between inner transformation and collective change. Through stories, dialogue, and guided reflection, we will explore four interconnected chapters that reveal how the systems we experience are continually shaped through our beliefs, identities, relationships, and participation.
Whether you are an educator, facilitator, founder, artist, community organizer, leader, or simply someone curious about creating meaningful change, this session offers an opportunity to step back, see the bigger picture, and begin exploring where your own work fits within it.
No previous experience is required—only curiosity.
This workshop is facilitated by Hadil El-Baba, who is teaching the 8-week course The Architecture of Community as part of our Fall Semester.
