Antifragility
Antifragility
There are many beautiful lenses through which we can view personal growth. One centers on moral character: developing virtues, discipline, honesty, and so on. Another focuses on achievement: of one's goals or something bigger - life purpose, vision, design. Add to this a more "spiritual" lens: growth is about becoming more aligned with one’s deeper self. There is, however, a completely different way to approach personal growth - as a form of antifragility. Antifragility is not just the opposite of being brittle - it also contrasts with being robust. This can strike us as a little weird - isn't robustness a component of growth? In this Philosophy Salon, we will explore this new lens to look at self-growth and find new insights about how we can transform ourselves.
