About Event

The Rhode Island Department of Health is thrilled to be hosting the annual Rhode Island Breastfeeding Conference — a gathering for professionals dedicated to supporting breastfeeding families. This year’s conference features a dynamic lineup of sessions that center the family experience and address timely and critical topics including safe sleep, cannabis use, perinatal mental health and breastfeeding polices, featuring a keynote from Rose St. Fleur, MD, FAAP, IBCLC, Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Director, Newborn Nursery, Medical Director, Center for Breastfeeding, Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

In addition, RIDOH will be releasing the updated Rhode Island Breastfeeding Strategic Plan, highlighting statewide goals and strategies to improve breastfeeding support, equity, and outcomes.

The event will culminate in a celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month, recognizing the collective efforts and advocacy that continue to move breastfeeding support forward in Rhode Island.

This is made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This conference is designed for healthcare professionals, lactation support providers, WIC staff, family visiting staff, doulas, breastfeeding advocates and others who work closely with lactating families.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with exhibitors, network with fellow professionals, and earn CEUs/CMEs.

Join us as we reconnect, learn, and grow together in support of a healthier future for Rhode Island’s families.
