RI Department of Health Annual Breastfeeding Conference

​The Rhode Island Department of Health is thrilled to be hosting the annual Rhode Island Breastfeeding Conference — a gathering for professionals dedicated to supporting breastfeeding families. This year’s conference features a dynamic lineup of sessions that center the family experience and address timely and critical topics including safe sleep, cannabis use, perinatal mental health and breastfeeding polices, featuring a keynote from Rose St. Fleur, MD, FAAP, IBCLC, Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Director, Newborn Nursery, Medical Director, Center for Breastfeeding, Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

​In addition, RIDOH will be releasing the updated Rhode Island Breastfeeding Strategic Plan, highlighting statewide goals and strategies to improve breastfeeding support, equity, and outcomes.

​The event will culminate in a celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month, recognizing the collective efforts and advocacy that continue to move breastfeeding support forward in Rhode Island.

​This is made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

​This conference is designed for healthcare professionals, lactation support providers, WIC staff, family visiting staff, doulas, breastfeeding advocates and others who work closely with lactating families.

​Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with exhibitors, network with fellow professionals, and earn CEUs/CMEs.
