Tech Detox Meetup: Presidio Hike!

​About this Event:

​​Tired of going to networking events and meeting hundreds of people, but not actually...making friends? Tech is such an extroverted industry, but so many people still feel lonely.

​This is a monthly meetup where people in tech (or not!) can together and make real connections. This month we're going on a hike! Get your body moving and join us for a beautiful coastal trail.

​This hike is moderate, and is good for most levels (beginners should be fine!). If you have trouble standing for long periods of time, this event may not be for you. Next month we will do something less active, so stay tuned!

​This is also great for people who are new to the city and want to make new friends. Hope to see you there!

​Where to meet:

​We'll meet at Baker Beach California Coastal Trailhead. There is parking at this meeting spot. Join the Whatsapp group for a picture of the exact meeting spot!

​About the trail:

​The California Coastal Trail is 2.7 miles long (one way) or 5.4 miles long if you decide to hike back to Baker Beach with us. We will have a small picnic when we get to the bridge. You can hike back with us to Baker Beach if you parked there, or you can end your hike after the picnic!

​Rules:

• ​​No talking about tech or work

• ​​No pitching your startup

• ​​Say hi to at least 3 people (more of a suggestion)

• ​​No connecting on Linkedin. Other social medias and phone numbers are OK!

• ​No asking "so...what do you do?"

• ​try "what do you like to do?" instead!

​What to Bring

• ​Water bottle, stay hydrated! We probably won't have drinks.

• ​A light snack to share at the end of hike picnic

• ​Small blanket that fits in your backpack if you want!

• ​Good vibes and open conversation
