2026 IEEE RAS Summer School on Embodied AI
This five-day intensive summer school at UCL East immerses participants in the cutting-edge field of embodied AI — the science of creating intelligent systems that perceive, reason, and act in the physical world. The programme bridges fundamental robotics with modern learning techniques, spanning state estimation and navigation through to whole-body control and vision-language-action models.
Participants will engage in expert lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and collaborative team projects, working with both simulation tools and real robot hardware including UCL's Unitree humanoid robot. Lunch is provided daily throughout the in-person programme.
The programme pairs university students — both IEEE RAS members and non-members — with high school students from London state schools in a near-peer mentoring model, fostering mutual learning while inspiring the next generation of roboticists.
