About Event

Despite doing their best, leaders often don't listen enough in fast-paced workplaces

As a result, their people stop speaking up. Objections go unspoken, instructions are misread, and work is redone. Over time, good people leave, and leaders wish they had listened more deeply when they had the chance.

Most listening courses teach you how to become a better listener. This one teaches you to create psychological safety between listener and speaker.

For both to understand and empower each other with deeper connection

This evening workshop is based on a 1-year module originally taught to graduate psychologists in the US. The habits are grounded in neuroscience and embodiment principles, and practised until communication can hold up under pressure.

What You'll Be Able to Do

👂Respond calmly during heated conversations, instead of reacting to stress

👂 Practise 3 simple moves (Mirror, Reflect, Validate) until you can use them under pressure

👂 Better understand what people want and need beyond their words

👂 Create psychological safety for conflict resolution and productivity at work

👂 Build better relationships with the people you love and care about in the world

About Chris Balsley

Chris holds a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC), as well as an executive coach and organisational change agent. He has deep expertise in the field of trauma, Gestalt coaching, and effectively applying Eastern and Western philosophies to reduce suffering in the world.

Chris has coached leaders across all organisational levels, from C-suite executives to mid-level managers in multinational corporations and Fortune 100 companies (e.g., McKinsey & Co., Bayer, Medtronic, Collins Aerospace, and others). As a veteran of the armed forces and a trainer to active-duty combat soldiers, Chris has a special affinity for working with the men and women who serve.

He holds that accountability, cost-based analysis, and driving business outcomes are equally as important as mindfulness, personal health, and finding deep meaning at work.

Chris has spent more than 35 years doing work he genuinely loves, helping people grow, heal, lead, and become their authentic and true selves. Originally from Colorado, USA, Chris has found another place he loves calling home here in Singapore. He feels genuinely fortunate to be building a life and community here, and hopes one day soon to bring his family here as well.

And when he’s not working, you might find him practising Shaolin kung fu or yoga, trampoline wall-running, or playing Afro-Cuban music—a passion he has shared with the same band for more than 25 years.
