Join us for Thursday Gathering #46: Automate & Run Your Business 🎬, an evening where film culture meets startup thinking. We begin with a screening of Run Lola Run, a fast-paced thriller exploring chance, agency, and the impact of small decisions, followed by a Live Founder Case Lab with Rakesh Kasturi tackling real leadership challenges, and a hands-on session on AI phone agents with Philipp Baumanns showing how automation can supercharge sales and operations. The evening concludes with a short panel with Anais Cisneros reflecting on risk, decision-making, and opportunity in building businesses and careers — drop in for one session or stay for it all!
🎬 Screening: Run Lola Run
17:30 – 18:50
We begin with a screening of Run Lola Run, directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Franka Potente.
The kinetic 1998 thriller follows Lola, who has 20 minutes to secure 100,000 Deutsche Marks to save her boyfriend, Manni. Told through three “what if” scenarios, the film uses techno music, rapid-fire editing, animation, and split screens to explore fate, agency, and the power of small decisions.
🧠🚀 Live Founder Case Lab
18:00 – 18:45
Welcome to a dynamic, hands-on session unlike any typical workshop at Venture Café. In this Live Founder Case Lab, founders and operators come together to unpack real leadership and growth challenges in a structured, moderator-led environment.
Led by Rakesh Kasturi, the session explores why innovation can slow down even in high-performing teams — particularly for founders leading teams of around five people.
💡 This interactive session is ideal for founders, operators, and innovators navigating the complexities of early team growth, offering practical insight through shared experience and collaborative problem-solving.
🤖 How to Automate Sales & Operations with AI Phone Agents
18:00 – 19:30
Join buildersklub’s breakout session with Philipp Baumanns, Co-Founder of telli, for a deep dive into how AI phone agents are transforming sales and operations.
Drawing from his experience scaling Enpal to 150+ people and building a YC-backed AI startup, Philipp shares how automation can eliminate high-friction manual processes and unlock instant ROI.
What you’ll learn:
Founder lessons from scaling operational teams
Why AI phone agents rapidly increase sales & ops capacity
How to build, test, and improve a production-ready agent in minutes
Live demo: Voice AI handling real conversations and objections
Building a modern sales stack with CRM-triggered workflows
What if a single decision could change everything? Join us for a screening of Run Lola Run followed by an interactive conversation on chance, agency, and the paths we create.
After the screening of Run Lola Run, we’ll turn the room into the conversation.
Instead of a traditional panel, this session will be a short, guided discussion inspired by the themes of the film: decision-making under pressure, the role of chance, and how small choices can lead to completely different outcomes.
Through a few structured prompts and small-group conversations, participants will reflect on how these ideas show up in real life — whether in building companies, shaping careers, or navigating unexpected opportunities.
The session will conclude with open networking and the chance to connect with others in the room.
