Future Lab: The Heretical Network State
Welcome to The Heretical Network State!
A series of brainstorming sessions on economics, post-scarcity, and transitioning humanity out of the last 5,000 years of debt to prosperity.
Come with contrarian ideas, prepare to challenge and to be challenged, and open your mind to lively discourse & debate.
Our events are held in the Future Lab framework:
1/ Two hours per meetup.
2/ Thoughtful mutual discussion, brainstorming, and forecasting during the session. Everyone's engaged, with no on-stage speakers, startup pitches, loud music, alcohol, etc.
3/ Accumulation and publication of the outcomes as ongoing public research.
4/ Preparation of deeper pre-read topics for each new meetup to dive into the rabbit hole effectively.
5/ The general goal is to outline our vision of a prosperous future and a clear path to it. The best outcome is to build products that will move civilization to a new level.
Topics for our sessions:
Imagine a perfect future. How can we define the prosperity of civilization in specific terms/goals? (we will practice this on November 10th)
What are the most effective ways to achieve the most significant outcomes?
How can we renovate the existing social-economical systems to move on?
What products can we build to make it happen?
Some pre-reads and glimpses of the future:
@Balaji 's The Network State book.
@Mark Nadal 's talk on the Mathematics of Freeism.
Albert Wenger's The World After Capital book.
Thanks to HanaHaus Palo Alto for hosting this event within walking distance from the Caltrain station. The room's capacity is limited to 25 people to make it convenient (and we got 20 registrations during the announcement day).
