About Event

✨ Dev Days is a global, in-person community-led initiative bringing developers, students, and local tech communities together to explore the power of GitHub Copilot through practical, hands-on experiences.

As part of the Dev Days Mangaluru College Series, join Augustine Correa (GitHub Star, 9x Microsoft MVP, Docker Community Leader) for a deep dive into modern AI-assisted and agent-driven software development with GitHub Copilot.

This session combines a technical talk and hands-on workshop designed to help students move beyond AI-assisted coding and explore how modern developers collaborate with AI agents to build real-world applications.

🎤 Session: GitHub Copilot App - From Issue to Merge with AI Agents

GitHub Copilot is evolving from a coding assistant into a development teammate.

In this interactive session, Augustine will demonstrate how developers can use GitHub Copilot App to move from GitHub issues and backlog items to implementation, testing, review, and pull requests using AI agents.

Drawing from real-world experience building and maintaining open-source projects and community platforms, attendees will learn how modern development workflows are being transformed by agent-driven development.

Key Topics

✅ Agent-driven software development

✅ GitHub Copilot App workflows

✅ Context engineering and task delegation

✅ Reviewing AI-generated code

✅ Best practices for working with coding agents

💻 Hands-On Workshop: Building Software with GitHub Copilot

The workshop provides an opportunity to put these ideas into practice through guided exercises with GitHub Copilot.

Participants will learn how to:

✅ Understand unfamiliar codebases using AI

✅ Break down features and backlog items

✅ Generate code, tests, and documentation

✅ Refine implementations through iterative collaboration

✅ Review and validate AI-generated changes

✅ Work effectively with GitHub Copilot across the software development lifecycle

Drawing on lessons learned from building production applications and open-source software, Augustine will demonstrate practical workflows that developers can immediately apply to their own projects.
