The Inner Map Room: An Experiential Group Session on Power in Everyday Relationships
Power, Held
What's left when power stops being something you win or lose.
Power is not something that only shows up in boardrooms or protests. It's in the pause before you speak in a meeting, and in the way you take up the whole armrest without thinking about it. It's in the shoulders that drop when someone senior walks in, and in the room that quiets slightly when you walk into it.
It's the sentence you didn't finish saying to a parent, and the opinion you stated with such certainty that no one else in the circle offered theirs. It moves through every relationship you you are a part of- a friendship, a family dinner, a queue, a classroom, quietly and automatically, mostly without your noticing, in both directions.
This workshop is an invitation to slow that down. The aim isn't to fix power, renounce it, or win it, but to actually feel what it's been doing to you and through you, in your body, long before you ever thought about it as a topic.
Facilitated by Seema, a psychodrama practitioner with a keen interest in group life and creating spaces for meaningful reflection.
