Coastal Curl ☃️ Give Back + Kickback 2026
come hang with us on sunday, december 7 from 1–5pm at the lark rooftop for our annual give back + kickback event.
it’s our favorite community day of the year, and this time it hits a little extra special because we’re also celebrating five whole years of coastal curl in oakland! wild.
we’re bringing together our darling curl fam, our small biz neighbors, our creative friends, and all the folks who make oakland feel like home. expect a jolly, tasty, and social afternoon filled with great vibes, great people, and great impact.
expect to swap hair goodies, eat some delicious food, bid on cute gifts at our auction, play some fun community-building games + activities, and definitely make some new friends while you’re at it. think rooftop hang, warm energy, and a chance to tap deeper into the heart of our city.
plus, we're so excited to fundraise for the east oakland youth development center (EOYDC)! this year the EOYDC is currently building out their braiding classes for teens, and they’re in need of supplies. we’re helping them stock up, and you’re invited to join in <3
guests are encouraged to bring unused or lightly used hair products and braiding essentials, including:
• shampoo and conditioner
• edge control
• braiding hair
• combs
• hair brushes
• hair clips
• hair bands
• blow dryers
please avoid bringing hair dyes, makeup, perfume, or anything expired.
the swap will be happening throughout the entire event. you can bring items you’re no longer using, browse what others have brought, and take home anything you’ll actually use! it’s cute, sustainable, and such a fun way to share the love within our curl community.
anything that doesn’t get claimed will be donated directly to EOYDC and used in their braiding classes for local youth.
