Flagship Pioneering Fellowship Information Session

​Flagship Pioneering is a scientific venture creation firm in Kendall Square, a world biotech hub in Cambridge MA. Flagship isn’t a venture capital firm — instead we use our resources to create brand new companies based on the ideas dreamed up by our own in-house scientists. Over the years we have created over 130 companies including Moderna, Cellarity, Indigo Agriculture and Lila Sciences. Our pipeline starts with curious, creative, rigorous scientists and technologists who are interested in exploring truly novel ideas, well beyond the safety of what is possible today.

​Our summer Fellowship is an opportunity for the best and most motivated candidates to spend 3 months imbedded in our company-creation teams learning our unique process of scientific exploration. It is an in-person, paid opportunity and the most talented, most creative Fellows get offers to come back and work at Flagship full-time once they’ve completed their PhD or postdoc. ​We are interested in recruiting entrepreneurial PhD students and postdocs from nearly any scientific or technical background — biomedical, basic biology and chemistry, computer science, engineering, and others. Fellows are expected to be within one year of graduation and/or completion of their current role. However, students who are earlier in the career are welcome to attend to learn more about Flagship for their future career planning.
