About Event

Join us for an event all about tackling the challenges developers face and how to turn them into wins. Three experts will share stories about scaling with micro-frontends, the emotional chaos of debugging that one impossible bug, and how to actually use (or not use) useEffect. It's all about breaking bottlenecks, building smarter, and staying a little saner along the way.

See you there!

// Revolutionizing R&D: Changing Platform Implementation to Micro-Frontend World - Gil Lupu, Senior R&D Team Lead - Platform Infra at Elementor

While some companies are growing, increased overhead and complexity can slow progress.

In this talk, we’ll take you through our journey — from ideation to challenges to successful implementation — of building an internal, cutting-edge platform designed to boost the efficiency of our R&D teams. We’ll dive into the platform’s micro-frontend architecture and share how it helped us eliminate most interface layers, significantly reduce team dependencies, remove major bottlenecks, and streamline development across the board.

About the speaker:

Gil is the Team Lead of the R&D Infrastructure and Design System team at Elementor, with over 15 years of experience in software development. He spends his time mentoring others, speaking at public events, and exploring his passion for front-end technologies.

// Ego-Driven Development: The Sticky Header Saga -  Liel Malihi, Frontend Developer at HoneyBook

Why the Hell Isn’t This Working?!”. That was the recurring thought of a frontend developer who spent days debugging a stubborn layout issue on mobile web - extra spacing at the bottom of the page and a sticky header that refused to stick when the keyboard was open. Despite years of experience and deep knowledge of CSS positioning, nothing worked. Every lead turned into a dead end, every workaround broke something else, and every attempt at debugging was blocked by the browser’s limitations.

This talk is about what happens when technical curiosity meets developer ego: how we sometimes keep pushing not because there’s hope, but because we refuse to ask for help. Through one developer’s journey - from obsessive debugging, to questioning their own skills, to finally accepting that some problems simply don’t have perfect solutions - we’ll explore the emotional rollercoaster behind “unsolvable” bugs, and what it teaches us about learning, humility, and knowing when to let go.

About the speaker:

Liel is a Frontend Developer at HoneyBook, where he has been crafting high-quality web experiences for four years. Raised in a Haredi household, he was first introduced to software engineering during high school when his principal recognized his potential and encouraged him to join a software engineering class. This pivotal opportunity ignited his passion for programming. For the past three years, Liel has been an integral part of HoneyBook’s Growth team, where he excels at translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready web applications. Outside of work, Liel enjoys theater, live music, and relaxing with a good show on the couch.

// Using Effects Effectively: A Deep Dive Into The useEffect Hook - Yehonatan Paripsky, Full Stack Engineer at Finout

Using useEffect? I bet you’re doing it wrong.

Since hooks were introduced in React 16.8, useEffect has been one of the most powerful yet misunderstood features. Initially introduced as a replacement for lifecycle methods in class components, it was later explained as a way of handling side effects and, finally, as a tool to synchronize React with external systems. The confusion surrounding useEffect caused widespread misunderstanding and misuse, leading to issues like state synchronization errors, infinite render loops, and unnecessarily complex code. While React’s new documentation provides better guidance, many developers still find themselves struggling with the nuances of useEffect.

In this talk, we’ll discuss when to use useEffect, the proper way of using it, how to avoid common pitfalls, and why, in many cases, you might not need it at all. We’ll break down patterns and anti-patterns that apply not just in React, but in any UI framework where clean side-effect management is essential.

About the speaker:

Yehonatan is a Full Stack Engineer at Finout with extensive experience building scalable web applications using React, Node.js, and modern front-end frameworks. He’s passionate about understanding how things work under the hood, mentoring fellow developers, and sharing knowledge through tech blogging and public speaking. When he’s not coding, you can find him gaming or tinkering with 3D printing projects.
