[COURSE] Date With Intention
Date With Intention 💛
A practical 4-part course for singles who want to date with more purpose, clarity and confidence.
Dating is supposed to be fun… so why does it feel so hard? 😭
It feels like everyone around you is attached or married. Meanwhile, you’re going on date after date, but you’re still single :( Or maybe you haven’t even started because downloading a dating app and meeting a stranger for two hours sounds terrifying.
Yes, you don’t need a relationship to have a good life. But even when you’ve built a life you love, sometimes, you might still want someone to share it with.
The tricky part is… when we really want something, it’s easy to focus on getting there without stopping to think about how we’re doing it.
Most of us don’t really think about how to date. We just do. We meet people, go on dates, get into relationships, get hurt, try again… and slowly figure things out along the way.
But there are parts of dating that you can learn and get better at.
That’s why we created Date With Intention.
Built from the real-world dating struggles and challenges shared by 400+ singles in Singapore, this 4-part course helps you understand yourself better, make more intentional choices and build practical dating skills.
What You’ll Learn 👀
💭 Part 1: Know Yourself
Most of us are strong in some areas of dating but weak in others. Maybe you know exactly what you want, or you're great at first dates, but there are usually gaps elsewhere. Most of us date without really understanding what we're bringing into our dating experiences: the beliefs that shape how you view relationships, how your values in practice, and why two people can share the same values but still clash on how to live them out.
Before figuring out whether someone else is right for you, it helps to understand what you bring to dating.
In this session, through structured frameworks, group discussion, and facilitator-guided reflection, we’ll explore:
The values you prioritise to shape the kind of relationship and life you want
How you tend to respond when things feel uncertain
Blind spots and assumptions about dating you may not notice in yourself
Understanding your dating patterns lets you identify areas of growth and make more intentional choices moving forward.
🧩 Part 2: Know What You’re Looking For
That cute person you swiped on? There's more to consider than just looks.
Most of us have a type, a mental checklist of traits. But the traits you're looking for might not be the things that matter for building a real partnership. And do you know what to look for in someone's capacity to show up well in a relationship?
In this session, through teaching segments, small group work and peer feedback, we’ll look beyond the usual dating checklists and explore:
Concepts of chemistry, compatibility, dealbreakers, and how they play out in real life
Why good date =/= good partner and how to assess someone’s ability to have a healthy relationship
Different ways people approach early-stage dating
You might think, “but I know what I’m looking for”.
We’re not asking to lower your standards (hell no), but to dig a little deeper into what matters to you and what kind of relationship you want.
💬 Part 3: Get Better at First Dates
First dates can be… ugh.
Because how do you make a good impression, try to be yourself, get to know someone… while not making the whole thing feel like a job interview??? 😭
Most people have never really thought about what a first date is actually for, or what makes one good. You might show up hoping for chemistry, trying to impress, or just winging it.
This session breaks down the elements that make a good first date and why it looks different for different people. Through team brainstorming, roleplay, and live practice activities, we’ll look at the whole first-date experience and unpack:
How to stay grounded in yourself while making a good first impression
How to make dating fun (again :D)
Common and gendered expectations around first dates
Creating a sense of safety on a date for both of you, and what to do when something feels off
By the time you're on a real date, you'll know what you're doing and be in the headspace for it.
Part 4: What Happens After the Date? 🚦
Okay. The date is over. Now what?
Most people leave a date with a gut feeling. But should you trust it 100%?
In this session, we’ll move beyond “good vibes” or “bad vibes”, and teach you how to assess what happened: Were you compatible or just attracted? Should you give it a second date? If it’s a no for you but they’re interested, how do you end it politely?
You'll work through common scenarios with your cohort and cover:
A structured framework to assess what matters in a date
How to process situations like "I like them, but they ghosted" or "chemistry was instant, but something felt off"
Deciding whether you want a second date
How to make sure dating doesn’t become exhausting
We’ll wrap up with tips for a sustainable approach to dating so you're not burning out.
By the end of this course, you'll have the tools to date with intention, and the confidence that comes with knowing what you're doing.
This Won’t Just Be Four Sessions of Boring Lectures 😴
If you only want dating advice, you can just doomscroll online.
Knowing something in theory and applying the lessons you learnt when you’re sitting across from someone you like are two very different things.
That’s why Date With Intention includes:
📝 Practical tools to identify your blind spots and grow: Structured frameworks to reflect on your dating patterns, see where you can grow, make clearer decisions and plan your next steps.
💬 Broaden your perspective through peer conversation: Group discussions where you compare approaches with other singles and gain a wider view of options and perspectives.
🎭 Practise with people, not prompts: Roleplay and discuss dating scenarios like first impressions with other singles, and get feedback from them and your facilitators to improve your dating life
🙋 Learn from trainers and facilitators who know relationships well: Ask questions, get feedback on your reflections, and be guided through each topic by people with expertise and lived experience in dating, relationships and marriage.
💛 Form friendships with other singles in your life stage: We’ve thought carefully about the community side of this cohort. Lunch or dinner is provided at every session, so you’ll have time to get to know each other over yummy food and conversation. Grow and graduate from this course with other growth-oriented singles.
Is This Course For Me?
This might be for you if:
You want to date with purpose, not just "see how lor"
You're dating, but a relationship just isn't happening 🥲
You’re getting back into dating after some time away
You keep ending up in relationships or situationships that don’t work out and wonder if there’s a pattern
You leave dates wondering: Did I like them? Did they like me? Should I see them again?
You do not need to be actively dating right now to join.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’m new to dating. Is this course suitable for me?
Definitely! The course gives you a chance to think through things like what type of relationship you want, how you approach dating, what to look out for, or how to handle a first date. So you can start your dating journey better prepared! :D
I’ve dated quite a bit already. What can I still get out of the course?
Having more dating experience gives you more to work with, because you can use this course to reflect on the people you tend to choose, patterns that keep coming up, what happens on your dates, and how you usually respond when things work out or don’t.
The course will give you the structure to look back at those experiences, identify gaps or areas of growth, and figure out what you might want to keep, change or approach differently moving forward.
Is this a matchmaking programme?
Nope! Date with Intention is a learning programme, not a matchmaking event. You’ll learn alongside a cohort of other singles, and there’s no expectation that participants date one another.
(If you happen to vibe though, great! 🥰)
Who else will be in the cohort?
You’ll be learning alongside a small, curated group of single working professionals who want to date more intentionally. Everyone is there to reflect on their experiences, learn and practise, even if their dating histories and perspectives are different from yours. These experiences are part of the value because hearing how someone else approaches dating may introduce perspectives you hadn’t considered before!
You’ll see familiar faces across all four sessions, which makes it easy for friendships to grow along the way!
Will the course cover dating apps?
Dating apps may come up as one way people meet potential partners, but the course isn’t a “how to optimise your dating profile” programme.
The skills and frameworks we’ll cover are designed to be useful whether you meet someone through an app, a friend, an event, work, a hobby or somewhere else entirely.
Keen on a dating-app-specific session? Let the facilitators know — we might make it happen 👀
Is this therapy or counselling?
No. Date With Intention is a practical learning programme, not therapy or counselling.
We may explore things like attachment tendencies, relationship patterns and blind spots as tools for self-awareness, but the course is not designed to provide mental health support, crisis care or help you process a very recent breakup in depth.
If you’re currently feeling overwhelmed, in crisis, or finding it difficult to cope after a breakup or relationship experience, we’d encourage you to seek support from a counsellor, therapist or other qualified professionals first.
How much will I need to share about my own dating experiences?
You’ll have opportunities to reflect and discuss throughout the course, but you won’t be expected to share anything you’re uncomfortable disclosing 🙏
Will meals be provided?
Yes! Lunch or dinner will be provided at all four sessions, so you’ll have time to continue conversations and form friendships with the cohort.
What if I can’t attend all four sessions?
We’d recommend attending all four sessions to get the most out of the course! Each session builds on the one before, and the practice activities are where the learning happens most. If you have to miss one though, that’s okay. There is still a lot to learn from each session!*
*Do note that there’s no make-up session and no prorated fee for the sessions you did not attend.
If my plans change, is my registration refundable or transferable?
Please let us know as early as possible by writing in to us hey@steady.com.sg, and we’ll see what we can do! Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What happens if I’m not offered a place?
If we’re unable to offer you a place, we’ll let you know by 23 Nov and refund your payment in full.
Who is this course for?
For this launch cohort, we’re focusing on singles in their 20s and 30s who are dating, chatting with people, or looking to start dating, but are not currently in a committed relationship.
The course focuses on the early stages of dating — understanding yourself, finding a partner and navigating first dates — rather than topics like break-ups, conflict resolution, or maintaining an existing relationship.
However, we’re planning future cohorts for other life stages, so do keep an eye out for updates!
