Since joining The Commons in Dec, I’ve been fascinated by how powerful a civically-engaged version of our community could be. The press says that SF is a Failed City, but in my 10 years here there has never been more energy around creating Civic Joy here! Let’s get in the mix!
Over the last 3 weeks, 18 Commons members in the ⚡ Activating Our Citizenship salon have been exploring what a more civically-engaged version of The Commons might look like. We want to:
bring the community into The Commons
bring the spirit of The Commons into the community
leverage the brainpower in this community for good!
We are building momentum to do all three of those things, by lining up 3 volunteer opportunities for folks to sign up for, a quick download on SF Politics, and starting to line up a Commons Civic Hackathon, to leverage the intellectual might inside these walls for good!
Join us - we can build a civic culture within The Commons, and it all starts by having fun together and getting into the community as a crew!
