Cross-University Alumni Edition
The UCL Alumni Movie Night Interest Group (Singapore) invites you to a cross-university Film & Culture Quiz Night, bringing together alumni from UCL, Columbia, MIT, Yale, INSEAD, NYU, Cambridge, Oxford, HBS and Duke for an evening of fun and friendly competition.
Inspired by The New York Times’ 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century, this night blends film, culture, logic and general knowledge in mixed-school teams.
You don’t need to be a cinephile — if you’ve watched more than a handful of films in the past 25 years, you’ll be fine.
Logistics
📅 Date: Thursday, 19 March
🕖 Time: 7–10pm
📍 Venue: Tanjong Pagar (exact location released upon confirmation; bar owned by a Columbia alumnus; please note there are stairs)
💵 Price: $45 — includes 1 cocktail or 2 mocktails, bar snacks, and all event materials
Drink tickets will be issued at registration and redeemed at the bar. Pizzas are available for pre-order or purchase on the day at additional cost.

Teams will be pre-assigned to ensure a balanced mix of film knowledge and schools
🕰️ Evening Flow
7:00pm — Arrival, registration, team formation
7:30pm — Quiz (Rounds 1–3)
8:20pm — Break (15–20 minutes)
8:40pm — Quiz (Rounds 4–6)
10:00pm — Winners announced, informal mingling
Registration
Due to limited capacity, early registration is recommended — spots will fill quickly. Attendance is curated for balance across schools.
Approvals will be sent in stages. Selected participants will receive a payment request. Please check your email/Whatsapp. Payment must be made within 48 hours, otherwise the spot will be released. Your spot is only confirmed on receipt of payment.
+1s welcome; please have them register separately. Alumni from participating schools will be prioritised if demand exceeds capacity.
Event T&Cs
Please conduct yourselves respectfully. The UCL Alumni, Friends, and Supporters Code of Conduct applies — breaches may result in removal from the event.
Tickets are non-refundable. Transfers are allowed with 48h notice, subject to organiser approval.
The organiser may adjust or cancel the event if unforeseen circumstances arise; refunds (if applicable) will be issued only if the organiser determines the event cannot proceed in a safe or reasonable manner.
Please inform the organiser of any dietary requirements or allergies. No liability is borne if this is not communicated.
By attending, you consent to non-commercial event photography or videography for alumni community purposes. Please inform the organiser if you prefer not to appear.
