Happy Hour: Spelling Bee

Note: Please check your email after registering for payment instructions. Your slot is only confirmed once payment is completed 🫶

You know how to spell. Probably.

Candid Club Happy Hour Spelling Bee takes the spelling bee you remember from school and turns it into a full game night.

Everyone plays from beginning to end. There are no eliminations. Instead, you’ll collect points across six rounds of spelling games, with each round getting a little harder and a little more chaotic.

Spell words out loud, spot the typo, fill in missing letters, unscramble words, survive Sip & Spell, and see where you land on the final leaderboard.

Highest score at the end of the night takes the title of Happy Hour Spelling Bee Champion. 🐝

What’s Included

• 6 rounds of spelling games

• Individual scorecards

• Live leaderboard

• Mini prizes throughout the night

• Champion prize

• Full access to all rounds — no eliminations

The Rounds

ROUND 1 — CLASSIC BEE 🐝
We’re starting old school. Hear the word, spell it out loud, get the point.

ROUND 2 — SPOT THE MISSPELLING 👀
Three spellings appear on screen. Only one is correct. Pick wisely.

ROUND 3 — MISSING LETTERS 🔤
We’ll give you part of the word. You fill in what’s missing and complete the spelling.

ROUND 4 — UNSCRAMBLE 🧩
All the right letters. Absolutely none of them in the right place. Figure out the word before time runs out.

ROUND 5 — SIP & SPELL 🍸
Our wildcard round. Draw a challenge before getting your word.

You could get:

• Double or Nothing

• Speed Spell

• Phone a Friend

• No Definition

• One Replay

There are more points on the table here, so things can move very quickly on the leaderboard.

ROUND 6 — THE FINAL BEE 🐝
The hardest words of the night.

Everyone plays the final round, with more points up for grabs before we crown our champion.

How Scoring Works

Every correct answer earns points.

Rounds increase in value as the night goes on, so an early spelling disaster does not take you out of the game.

Your points from all six rounds are added together for your final score.

Highest score wins.

What to Expect

Think game show more than school spelling bee.

There’ll be words you know, words you thought you knew, typos hiding in plain sight, questionable guesses, drinks, and several opportunities to confidently spell something completely wrong in front of a room full of people.

What to Bring

Your spelling skills.

Or confidence. We’ll accept confidence.

Who Can Join

Anyone who wants to play. You don’t have to be a spelling bee person, and you definitely don’t need to study beforehand.

Every player participates in every round, so you’re in the game all night regardless of your score.
