We’re teaming up with Swish Swimming at Dempsey for an afternoon where dads and little ones dive in and make some serious waves.
This isn’t your typical swim lesson. Pick up not only water skills, but get competitive with fun games in the pool.

Out of the pool, head next door to Baker & Cook, where we’ll have a space to refuel and connect with the community. Bring the whole family! Mums unwind with a coffee while dads get soaked.

What’s included in the price of a ticket?
The ticket admits one adult and one child for the swimming session. Of course mums can join to cheer us on poolside! The whole family is invited also to a reserved area at Baker & Cook next door, with free coffee with any main course.
What ages of kids can join?
The event is for children from ages 0 to 4 years old. It will be split into two sessions by age group, in order to manage different development and skills levels safely.
What is the program of the event?
The event is not a normal lesson which goes through a checklist of skills instruction and practice, but rather a fun swim structured around skills and fun games - an afternoon for dads and little ones alike to enjoy!
The event runs from 3PM-5PM which will include 2 separate sessions split by age. We welcome parents to join for the whole 2 hours to connect with other families, relax poolside and enjoy food and drinks at Baker & Cook next door.
The two groups will be Group 1 for ages 0-1, and Group 2 for ages 2-4.
3PM: Arrival at Swish Aqua Studio and Group 1 gets ready.
3:15-3:45PM: Group 1 session with swim skills and games
3:45-4:00PM: Group 1 gets dries up, while Group 2 gets ready
4:00-4:45PM: Group 2 session with swim skills and games
3:00-5:00PM (and beyond): Reserved area for Dad Life Club at Baker & Cook
Should my child already have formal swimming experience and lessons to participate?
This is a fully dad-accompanied swim focussing on less on instruction and more on fun pool. There are no guidelines for previous swimming experience. The coaches will be leading the session through and closely monitoring the safety of each child.
Are there changing facilities?
Yes, there are private changing areas for both the dads and kids.
Is it an outdoor or indoor pool?
Swish Aqua Studio is an outdoor pool situated in the lush greenery of Dempsey Hill.
Is it heated and baby-safe?
Aqua Studio is a temperature‑controlled heated pool offering a gentle, salt‑chlorinated swimming environment.
What if it rains or there are other adverse weather conditions?
During the event itself, the Swish Swimming team will assess whether the rain is too heavy or there is lightning nearby in order to decide whether to pause temporarily or discontinue the session. Children’s safety will always be first. There are covered areas around the pool area as well as at Baker & Cook for shelter.
Parents will always have the option to take their child our of the pool if they do not feel comfortable.
How about the haze?
There continues to be uncertainty about the Haze outlook during the event date. Safety will always come first and we will follow the guidelines from the NEA regarding strenuous outdoor activities for children (classed as “vulnerable persons”). We will err on the side of caution if the haze outlook in the days before the the event are unfavourable, and will give all ticketholders advanced notice should there be any changes or cancellations. In the event of cancellation for haze-related reasons, a full refund will be given.
What should I bring?
For swimming, be prepared with swimming clothes, swim diapers, towels, change of clothes and any body wash or lotions as per your child's needs. Don’t forget essentials such as milk, formula, water, snacks, diapers, changing pads, creams, electric fans and other daily items.
How do I win the Hydro Flask bottle?
Dad Life Club limited edition Hydro Flask bottles will be given away to 10 lucky dads. Winners will be selected at random based on registrations. In order to participate in the lucky draw, you must sign up to the Hydro Flask newsletter with the same email address as you have used for the event sign up. Giveaway items come in different sizes and colours and are allocated at random by the event organizers.
My plans changed, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, all tickets for this event are final and we're unable to process refunds. We hope you're able to make it, and look forward to seeing you there!
Hydro Flask giveaway terms & conditions
The lucky draw is organised in partnership with Hydro Flask specifically for this event. It is open to all ticketholders who have signed up to the Hydro Flask newsletter with the same email address as per the event registration.
Each person may enter once; entries with mismatched emails or an incomplete step are not eligible. Ten (10) winners will be drawn at random prior to event and notified during the event.
Each winner receives one (1) Dad Life Club x Hydro Flask bottle. Bottles come in different sizes and colours and are allocated at random by the event organizers; they cannot be changed, exchanged, transferred or redeemed for cash.
By entering, participants consent to Dad Life Club using their name and contact details to run the draw. Dad Life Club decisions are final, and Dad Life Club may amend or cancel the draw if needed.
Terms & conditions
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Participation in all activities is at your own risk, and Dad Life Club is not liable for any loss, injury or damage sustained during the event.
All tickets are non-refundable. In the unlikely event of a cancellation or significant change to the event, ticketholders will be notified as soon as possible. Dad Life Club reserves the right to refuse entry.
Photos and videos may be taken during the event and shared on our social media channels purely for the purpose to help grow the Dad Life Club community. By signing up, you consent to you and the children in your care being photographed or filmed for this purpose. If you would prefer not to be included, please let the host know on arrival and we will respect your wishes.
Please do not attend if you or your child are feeling unwell on the day of the event. We want to keep our community safe and healthy for everyone.
In the unlikely event of a venue change, timing adjustment or cancellation, registered attendees will be notified as soon as possible. Dad Life Club reserves the right to make these changes where necessary.
