Scaling Climate Finance for Nature: What Works in Practice
Financing nature-based solutions (NbS) remains a structurally underdeveloped corner of climate finance. Existing mechanisms that can finance NbS have made meaningful inroads in some ecosystems, but large gaps remain.
During New York Climate Week, Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) and Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS) will convene a 90-minute roundtable exploring what it takes to mobilize and scale private capital for nature. The discussion will examine the role of catalytic capital, grants, and technical assistance in turning innovative ideas into investable solutions, drawing on lessons from CPI’s Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance and Catalytic Climate Finance Facility.
The event will bring together investors, government funders, DFIs and MDBs, climate finance practitioners, and ecosystem partners for a practical discussion on what works in scaling finance for nature.
Agenda:
15:00 - 15:10: Welcome and Setting the Scene (10 mins)
