The First 5 Years
The first few years after graduation can feel exciting, uncertain, and full of decisions that are hard to evaluate in the moment. But they’re also foundational.
Join The Penelope Network and Women in Business Collective for a virtual panel with women who are navigating the transition from college into the workforce. Together, they’ll share what actually shapes early career growth, from choosing your first role to building confidence, relationships, and momentum in the years that follow.
We’ll explore how to approach early career decisions thoughtfully, what helps you stand out in your first roles, how mentorship develops organically, and what these first few years really look like in practice - not just in theory.
Meet the speakers

About The Penelope Network: The Penelope Network is a modern community bridging generations of ambitious women through mentorship, conversation, and shared growth. Built on the belief that learning and teaching aren’t limited by age, title, or industry, The Penelope Network connects women at every stage of life and career - creating space to exchange insight, celebrate wins, and navigate change together.
About Women In Business Collective: Inspired by 3 women, Kendra Landi, Kayla Cunanan, and Talia Manzanares discovered that Women in Business, which had grown to become the largest organization at San Diego State University, had no united community at the higher level. Better yet, there was a resounding interest in an overarching, national organization. To help build up Women in Businesses at other colleges, they turned their passion into action, creating the blueprint for their chapter’s success - and establishing it into a business for all chapters to follow. Currently supporting 11 chapters nationwide, spanning from West to East Coast + a new chapter in Hawaii.
