2026 Pittsburgh County Fair & Fiber Arts Contest

​KNIT PIT is bringing a juried fiber arts contest to this year's Pittsburgh County Fair, hosted by Ferment Pittsburgh in Allegheny Commons Park. Knitting, crochet, needlework, and everything in between - if you made it, we want it on the table.

​How it works

​Enter your piece ahead of time (preferred) or day-of at the table. Drop off the morning of the fair, pick up at the end of the day - we can't hold anything past the event. Every entry gets a display card so attendees can see, feel, and react to your work.

​Judging

​A panel of judges scores every entry on three things:

• ​Vibes - creativity, fun, upcycled or thrifted materials, general delightfulness

• ​Finishing - seams, ends, blocking, edges, tension

• ​Technical skill - colorwork, cables, lace, shaping, and whether you pulled it off

​Each category is scored 1 to 5 for a total out of 15.

​Prizes

​First place in each category takes home a vintage trophy. Second and third get ribbons. More prizes TBA.
