You're invited to Lacunafest 2026!!
I've been dreaming this one up for a while, and I'm so excited it's finally happening.
Lacunafest is a colorful evening put together for creatives - interior designers, architects, artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, writers, chefs, creative directors, fashion designers, stylists, ... you know, our people. The plan is simple: good company, light bites from Joe's Pizza, cocktails, and a curated group art show put together with the incredible Yael Wulfhart of Art Wolf @artwolfgallery. Music all night from DJ Sensitive Geezer @Joel_marcus, and dancing at the end - so take your disco naps, everyone!!
We're also celebrating the season - that magical window when spring turns into summer, the days get longer, the nights get warmer, and you actually want to be outside again. The art in the show reflects that feeling: florals, greens, that alive-and-in-bloom energy.

THE ARTISTS AT LACUNAFEST 2026:
LOUIS JACOT
Louis Brooke Jacot is a British artist, designer, and craftsman based in Los Angeles, specializing in furniture. His original works are tailored for the unique individuals, narratives, and sentiments for which they are commissioned.
Growing up in a 750-year-old oak-framed cottage in rural Suffolk, England, he was surrounded and inspired by traditional craftsmanship and timeless techniques.
With the guidance of his mother and grandfather, he first picked up a hammer at 3 and caught the bug. Studying design & technology, and art throughout his school career, he finally trained classically in fine furniture making in Oxford before moving from London to LA in 2024.
Now his focus is on creating considered and contextual pieces intertwined with their purpose, aiming to evoke the depth of design, meticulousness, embellishment, and functionality of the past that is being lost to the modern era. Looking ahead, he has plans for a furniture collection inspired by his move to LA and his experience of the city as a newcomer.

JARED HENDLER
Born in South Africa. Son of a painter still working in Cape Town.
Jared began drawing & painting throughout childhood. He emigrated to the United States receiving his BFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Following his education, Jared moved to New York and worked within the advertising industry on digital and social media engagement campaigns for large, multi-national brands. While working with online influencers, Jared witnessed the seismic effects of technology and the unprecedented power and opportunity it gave individuals to reach large audiences directly. Many who were previously unrecognized or underserved now had a voice.
Moving back to Los Angeles has enabled Jared to focus on his portraiture that documents the personalities that are shaping our culture.

JAVIERA ESTRADA
Multi-media artist, Javiera Estrada, was born in Acapulco, Mexico and emigrated to the United States in 1989. Javiera’s broad scope of work, which includes photography, mixed media, photograms, film, and textiles, is influenced by her memories of growing up in Acapulco—a tropical paradise of vibrant colors, steeped in spiritual ritual and magical realism.
Estrada’s mystical affinity for bridging the gap between the conscious landscape of reality and the subconscious world of the spiritual can be seen throughout her work. Philosophically, Estrada rejects Cartesian dualism and its compartmentalization of the whole, embracing a worldview of interconnectivity and unity consciousness. Artistically, she seeks to unify the mundane and the sacred.
Javiera examines the theme of interconnected consciousness in a multitude of ways. From incorporating female bodies as sculptural forms in organic communion with nature, to creating galactic primordial environments with inks—fluid and formless, structures representing the “prima materia,” original essence of existence. The juxtaposition of shadow and light play a recurring role in Estrada’s explorations as well, representing the internal struggle between the spiritual and the physical.
Estrada describes her artistic process as both frenzied and laborious. The work is multi-layered and time-consuming, a technique she sees as inducing presence, while moving away from the high-speed nature of the digital age. The initial messy, chaotic stage of unknowing is essential to Estrada’s process, as it allows for connection with the deeper, subconscious elements wanting to emerge through the work.
Estrada has exhibited in the United States, Europe (London, Germany, China, Switzerland) and Singapore. In 2020, her solo show in Las Vegas received a Certificate of Special Congressional Commendation for the Arts from the United States Congress. Her latest series was recently exhibited at Leica Gallery in Hollywood. Estrada currently lives and works in Los Angeles.

JEFF MORRICAL
Morrical is a Culver City-based artist and former architect whose work explores the intersection of structure, material, and gravity. Using the Miura-ori fold - a geometric pattern drawn from mathematics and engineering - he creates large-scale paper sculptures that are never quite the same twice, shifting and settling into form under their own weight.
Morrical's relationship with folded paper began in childhood. Growing up in the suburbs of Orlando, Florida, he was introduced to origami at around age seven by a Japanese exchange student living next door. The experience stayed with him. "I just kind of loved the idea that you could take this material that's all around us all the time and turn it from something that's 2D into something that's 3D."
His architectural training gave that early fascination a new dimension. Thinking about scale, proportion, and structural behavior led Morrical to a defining realization: that size transforms the work entirely. As he puts it, "This thing is cool when it's big." At large scale, gravity becomes a collaborator - pulling the sculpture in unexpected directions, creating forms that are organic, unrepeatable, and alive.
