BIRDS-giving: an annual bird assignment walk
✨✨SAY GOODBYE TO THANKSGIVING AND HELLO TO BIRDS✨✨
Buckle in everyone — this one is going to be fun! Ever wondered what it would be like to be so painfully committed to a bird fit?
Wonder no further! This event is for everyone who has seen the bird fit check videos on TikTok and Instagram, and wants to add a little bit of bird fun to their own timeline.
Upon signing up for this event, you will receive an email from me with your assigned bird for our walk. Don't worry - we will find a bird that feels fitting for you 🦆
As always with a Quirky Bird Girl event, our time together isn’t just about spotting birds (though trust me, we’ll find plenty). It’s about creating space for connection — with nature, with each other, and with ourselves. Expect a mix of fun bird facts, goofy impressions (come prepared with your own too!), and stellar (fun) learning opportunities.
✨ What to Expect
🌿 A walk around south Central Park — we’ll explore ground and tree-top birds while learning which birds to look for at which eye levels. Interested in chirpchasing by ear? We'll do lots of that too!
🦆 Chances to spot buffleheads, hooded mergansers, mallards, white throated sparrows, blue jays, and if we’re lucky… maybe even a northern cardinal!
💬 Community-focused conversations where curiosity and kindness are the only requirement.
💛 A safe, joyful (neurodivergent af) space to learn, share, and celebrate the season with fellow Chirpers.
🕒 Timeline
1:00 PM — Meet-up & intros
1:10 PM — Walk begins
Once we start, my phone goes away because the birds deserve our full attention 💛. If you’re late, you might have to track us down in the park!
We'll wrap up at one of my favorite food spots on the UWS, Friedman's!
🌦️ Weather Policy
Birds deserve their moment! If it is estimated to be raining at the start time of the walk, the birdwalk will automatically be rescheduled to the same day and time the following week.
