About Event

Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong. Take 2 mins to learn more here https://www.syndicateroom.com/risk-warning

UK startup investment has turned a corner. 2026 is on track to see more capital going into rounds under £50m than in 2025. Q3 alone saw 12 megarounds, the most in a single quarter since 2021.

Follow the money down the stages and the picture changes. Just 9% of Q3 investment went to seed, the same thin share as the quarter before. Capital is going back to companies that have already proven themselves, and the earliest rounds are still short.

Join SyndicateRoom CEO Graham Schwikkard for a deep dive into the UK startup market Q3 numbers and what they mean for anyone backing early-stage companies this tax year.

What we'll cover:

  • Where the money went in Q3, by stage, sector and round size

  • Why megarounds are back, and whether it lasts

  • The seed squeeze: what a 9% share means for founders and early investors

  • What our data on 5,000+ UK startups shows about investing at the early stage right now

  • Access EIS: how the fund builds its portfolio, who it's for, and what to know before the next deadline at the end of November

  • Live Q&A - your questions answered

Who it's for

Investors who know the basics of EIS and want a data-led read on the market before they make their next allocation. Financial advisers are welcome too.

Past performance is not a guide to future returns, EIS tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change, and capital is at risk.
