The Art of Moving Ideas Forward

Confidence, doubt, and the work of believing your own ideas Part of The Opportunity Series

Noticing something worth building is only the first step. The harder part is believing you're allowed to build it.

This workshop looks at the voice that shows up right after a good idea — the one that questions whether you're qualified, ready, or experienced enough to act on what you've noticed. That voice has a name (imposter syndrome), and it shows up for almost everyone who's ever tried to make something new, no matter how far along they are.

Through a series of guided exercises, we'll work through:

  • recognizing self-doubt as a normal part of building something, not a sign you're on the wrong path

  • a hands-on self-assessment to map where your current strengths and gaps actually are

  • the difference between weaknesses worth building and weaknesses worth delegating

  • reframing setbacks and uncertainty as part of the process, not evidence against you

  • one small, concrete step you can take this week despite the doubt

This is not a lecture on positive thinking. It's a hands-on session about getting honest with yourself — what you're actually good at, where you actually need help, and how to keep moving even when the voice in your head says you shouldn't.

We built this workshop for students interested in small business, creative entrepreneurship, side projects, branding, food concepts, fashion, media, events, or community-building.

No business idea required.

Each session in The Opportunity Series stands on its own. You are welcome to attend one workshop or explore several throughout the term.
