About Event

Three to five days. That’s the typical bereavement leave, and in most states, no law guarantees even that.

So you learn to grieve efficiently: in the car, in the shower, after hours, never on the clock.

And at some point, nobody has to tell you to keep it together. Because you do it yourself.

If that resonates, this conversation is for you.

Her Soul Supply is back with another invitation for women to slow down, speak in draft, and connect through elevated, guided conversations about our relationships with ourselves and the world.

This month’s Slow Down turns toward loss, and toward the unwritten rules about how we’re supposed to carry it.

Led by Her Soul Supply Founder Fanny Tristan, LCSW, who works with eldest daughters, alongside Shelby Remillard, LMHC, a grief therapist who hosts grief groups, this guided salon will explore:

  • Why grief can feel like something to mask, even when the pain is completely real

  • The systems that tell us how to grieve: hustle culture, family, religion, and the media we grew up on

  • What it’s like to be “the strong one,” and where your own grief goes when everyone else leans on you

  • How to move through the holidays, and show up for the people you love, without a script

Through reflection, conversation, and shared stories in community, over light bites and drinks, we’ll slow down long enough to say what’s actually true about loss.

Come as you are. Leave a little less alone.

About the Hosts

Her Soul Supply: Her Soul Supply is a community space founded by licensed psychotherapist Fanny Tristan, LCSW, for women navigating the gap between the life they built and the one they actually want. Through salons, workshops, and curated gatherings, HSS creates space for the conversations modern life doesn't slow down enough to have.

Shelby Remillard, LMHC is an Indigenous (Laguna Pueblo) and Filipina therapist who helps millennials navigate grief and death loss. After being inducted into the Dead Dad Club in 2009, she never expected to use her therapy skills to help other grievers. Then she found her own grief community through Experience Camps and felt the power of grieving in a group. Today she hosts a series of grief groups, each connected to a part of her own story, and has helped hundreds of BIPOC, pet loss, and dead dad, parent, and sibling grievers find their communities. She also sees clients individually for grief, trauma, and relationship concerns. She writes about grief and pop culture in her Substack, The Cultured Grief Therapist.

A Community for All, with BIPOC Women at the heart.

Please Note:

Her Soul Supply offers educational and community programming, not psychotherapy. Nothing here constitutes diagnosis, treatment, or a clinician-client relationship. If you’re interested in individual therapy with Fanny, that requires a separate clinical intake through Restority Space. Shelby’s groups and individual work are separate and can be found through her links above. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988.
