About Event

Interested in learning more about protein design? Already specialised in the field and looking to apply your skills?

👉 Then the Protein Design Week is for you!

This student-led initiative brings together academia, industry, and hands-on engineering challenges. You will have an overview of the field of protein design through various events during the week, and get to work on concrete challenges in a hackathon over the weekend.

Open to all levels from beginner to experienced, this is a unique opportunity to discover the latest trends in neural networks applied to protein folding prediction, hear from experts in the field, and meet new people with similar interests.

Below is an overview of the week events. You are free to register for as many as you want!

If you participate in the hackathon, we would highly recommend you attend the workshop on Monday.

Please note that the registration deadline is the Friday February 27.

The hackathon is held on EPFL campus in Lausanne, no remote participation. We cannot sponsor transport or accomodation.

📣 Team workshop

Monday, March 2, 18:00

You will be introduced to protein design fundamentals and softwares.

The presentation will be followed by an apéritif for everyone to meet each other!

🙌 Office Hours

Tuesday, March 3

Committee members and coaches will be available to answer any of your

questions regarding organisation, software or other topics.

🔬 Adaptyv Bio Lab Tour

Thursday, March 5

You will have the unique opportunity to visit the protein design company Adaptyv Bio, and discover their novel solutions to speed up protein design pipelines with lab automation and AI optimisation.

🎤 Industry Roundtable

Friday, March 6

You will get insights from industry specialists and professors about the current state of

the art, the future of the field and how students can get involved.

💻 Hackathon

Saturday, March 7 & Sunday, March 8 (on-site in Lausanne, no remote participation)

You will work in teams on protein design projects, with the help of coaches! On Sunday, each team will pitch their solution and the jury will vote for the winner.

The week will close with the final award ceremony.
