This keynote aims to uncover the uncomfortable truth organisations rarely admit: the more advanced our systems become, the more they force trade-offs we can’t optimise away. Through real-world dilemmas, it challenges the illusion of win-win situations, where efficiency can undermine fairness, innovation can increase environmental cost, and “better” outcomes depend on who you ask. This isn’t a talk about doing good more effectively, it’s about confronting what happens when doing good in one area means compromising another, and deciding what really matters when you can’t have it all.
