Just Show Up: A Learning Experiment
What if the most meaningful professional learning you experienced this year happened in a small circle of people thinking together?
Maria Munro Schuster and Jane Shore are launching Just Show Up, an experiment in learning together.

We'll keep the group intentionally small so everyone has the opportunity to participate.
Each gathering begins with a People-Based Learning or Empathetic Classroom practice, story, or idea to spark our thinking (see details below). From there, we'll explore one or two real challenges brought by participants related to learning, teaching, leadership, engagement, or human connection in work, school, or life. Together, we'll use a simple process to Connect, Reflect, and Affect.
Connect Listen deeply to understand the person, the context, and the question.
Reflect Ask thoughtful questions, share perspectives, and help expand thinking.
Affect Leave with a new possibility, a next experiment, or an action worth trying.
There are many ways to participate.
Bring a challenge. Share a question or challenge related to learning, teaching, leadership, or human connection.
Join as a co-thinker. Offer thoughtful questions, perspectives, and ideas to help other’s thinking.
Or simply listen. Sometimes the question someone else brings turns out to be exactly the one you needed.
While many participants may be educators, anyone who cares about helping people learn, connect, collaborate, and flourish is welcome.
This circle is inspired by the work we've each been exploring through our books. If you're curious, we'd be delighted for you to explore them, but it is entirely optional.
We'll begin by inviting anyone who wants to join and discover what we can build together. Show up with a question. Show up with an idea. Or just show up.
