Ground Floor Program 2026-27 Artist Bios
Frank WANG Yefeng is a transdisciplinary artist who lives and works in New York City and Shanghai. WANG’s practice spans a wide range of media and explores the experience of "in-betweenness" that arises from a nomadic, transnational existence.
Zoë Pulley is a Brooklyn-based artist, educator, and designer working across textiles, writing, and digital media to examine American heritage and the everyday stories of Black folks.
Keli Safia Maksud is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in New York. Maksud’s practice traces the intersections of space, power, and memory, through installation, sound, and sculpture.
Maya Jeffereis is an artist and filmmaker whose work in video, performance, and installation seeks to expand upon overlooked histories and fill archival gaps with counter narratives, personal histories, and speculative fictions.
Alicia Grullón is a US-born Dominican conceptual artist, whose work critiques the politics of presence in political, environmental, and social spheres through image-making, performance, and social practice.
Erick Hernandez’s work is rooted in highly temporal settings like the death of a loved one, the length of a subway commute, or the confines of a waiting room. His mural-sized figurative paintings explore individual and collective histories, arriving at meaning through association.
Kara Springer is particularly concerned with armature—the underlying structure that holds the flesh of a body in place. She works with photography, sculpture, and site-specific interventions to explore systems of infrastructure and structural support.
