UK Idealist Birthday Picnic-Birmingham & West Midlands
What's the plan?
For my birthday, all I want is for Brum to feel more neighbourly, so I’m hosting a free picnic for everyone! Please bring your own blankets/chairs, games, smiles and snacks (of course, sharing is caring) and come meet your fellow Brummies!
Please keep an eye out for weather updates here in the message blasts. Feel free to pop over at any point during those two hours and stay for as long as you’d like!
What is idealist?
The world is hurting, people are lonely, and it’s becoming harder to make friends. We want to build community, connect with strangers and make life a little brighter through kindness and friendship. Once a month, we do something to make our little corner of the world better.
Who is running this?
**This is a non-political, non-religious, unfunded global movement that focuses on the human side of humanity: connection through kindness.**
This just happens to be my birthday month :)
How many people are involved?
This is a global movement with over 5,000 people across 83 countries. This is the Birmingham and West Midlands initiative to bring people together.
Will there be food?
Cake and a few snacks will be provided, but please bring something to drink and snack on as well as something to sit on.
What happens if it rains?
We will meet under the overhang in front of the Birmingham Central Library only if it rains. Conformation of location based on weather will be made day before. If it is sunny, we will meet in St. Paul's Square.
How will I know where to find you?
We will have a large sign the says Idealist Brum on it with our bull, you won't miss us and I will also post the more specific exact location in a message blast.
Do I have to sign up?
Yes please; especially as food will be provided free of cost, it will be imperative to get an accurate estimate of attendees.
I can't attend that day— can I still connect?
We will be meeting virtually on 6/6 with others across the UK via Google Meet from 11:00am-12:00pm. Please sign up here:

Why is the "i" in idealist sometimes lowercase and sometimes uppercase?
The official branded name is with a lowercase i. However, to people that aren't familiar with idealist, it could look like a typo. :)
