Strong SacReads Book Club: Killed by a Traffic Engineer

We have another spring book club, this time for Killed by a Traffic Engineer by Wes Marshall. This book club session will discuss Part 1, so get your book and start reading!

In Killed by a Traffic Engineer, civil engineering professor Wes Marshall shines a spotlight on how little science there is behind the way that our streets are engineered, which leaves safety as an afterthought.

"Marshall decodes the dubious concepts that have driven traffic engineering, including level of service, functional classification, design speed, and clear zones, and their intellectually shaky origins. The profession is a giant black box, even to most traffic engineers, and Marshall opens it up and examines the parts for everyone to see." (CNU)
