Beyond Evidence Gathering: Managing Fairness, Credibility and Challenge

Workplace Investigations: A Balanced View: Take 2

Due to popular request, we are having a Take 2 on taking a balanced view to workplace investigations.

Most workplace investigation training is written from one angle — usually the employer’s.

This session is different.

At Impact, we support organisations to run investigations that are fair, evidence-led and defensible.

For this webinar, we’re joined again by Nathan Vidini of AltraLaw, a firm that acts for individuals in employment-related matters. This session brings the employee perspective on where investigations most commonly go wrong, and how fairness is challenged in practice.

We will be asking Nathan more questions about:

  • The fairness issues employees and their lawyers look for when challenging investigations

  • The types of gaps that can undermine trust in the process (and later decision-making)

  • What makes an investigation feel “predetermined” and how to avoid that

  • How employers can avoid these risks and keep the process human

  • Practical steps to keep investigations even-handed and credible

  • Real life examples of successful challenges to investigations

  • Real examples of where investigations have stood up to scrutiny

You’ll leave with a balanced set of practical actions that strengthen investigations for everyone involved.

Who it’s for: HR, People teams, ER leads, managers, founders, and anyone who conducts or commissions workplace investigations.

Speakers:

  • Victoria Hall, Employment Lawyer & HR professional, Impact Legal & Business Services

  • Nathan Vidini, AltraLaw – representing individuals in employment matters

About our guest: AltraLaw is the UK’s first not-for-profit law firm, and it specialises in advising employees only.
