Forest Bathing + Social
Forest first, then coffee.
Forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) is not a hike. There's no destination, no pace to keep, no gear required. It's a slow, guided practice of using your senses (sight, smell, sound, touch, taste) to arrive fully in a place you may have walked past a hundred times. The practice originated in Japan in the 1980s and has since been studied for its measurable effects on stress and attention. Though it needs no research to justify it: you simply connect with yourself and nature. Let a forest that has been here far longer than any of us do some of the tending.
The Morning
10:00 – 11:30 AM — Forest Bathing A guide will lead a slow, sensory walk through Stanley Park. No fitness level or forest bathing experience required.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM — Social at Amberdo Cafe A short walk from the park, the group settles in for coffee, a bite, and conversation — guided by a deck of Climafide Cards.
Free to Attend
This event is free, made entirely possible by the Ocean Action Grant and Climafide.
