What is a Hot Seat?
Hot Seats are peer-powered sessions where members bring a live challenge to the community to get fresh perspectives, learn from each other, and get support as they work toward their next steps.
Everyone in the room learns something:
The Hot Seater gets new ways to look at their challenge.
The Facilitator strengthens their leadership and space-holding skills.
The Participants practice giving meaningful feedback, build relationships, and absorb lessons they didn’t know they needed yet.
And you never know when something you hear will unlock something big for you down the road.
This is members learning from members. It’s not transactional. It’s communal. It’s what makes Generalist World special.
Background
I’m writing my first book, born from my Substack: Unflappable. It’s a memoir about dreaming of flying, living through cancer, and then finally soaring. The message is, “Life is short, learn to fly.”
We’re 3-4 months from publication and now is the time to have a promo plan mapped out and ready - this is where I need your help. I’ve never promoted a book before or any piece of art that’s deeply rooted in my own story.
I wanted to prove I could write a manuscript ✅, tell a compelling, well-composed story ✅✅ and now I want people to find it and read it 📚📢. I am ready to put real effort into making this project a success. I have a plan, more than just a concept of one, and I’d love your input.

How do I market a memoir, making the most of my personal network, my time, and (limited) resources?
Who should join?
This Hot Seat is open to anyone who would like to join. I’d especially appreciate feedback from people with experience publishing, growing a substack, digital marketing…also people who know how to fly or paraglide, or have an interest in learning. After all, Life is short… 😁🪂
