༻ ABOUT UNDERSTORY ༺
Understory is an event series rooted in sound system culture & underground bass music. Celebrating deep, abstract sounds to alchemize the shadows that allow a nourishing environment underneath the sun loving canopy trees. In a food forest, the understory is the layer of vegetation growing beneath the main canopy that thrive in filtered or dappled light. Lovingly curated by a Maui-grown, kanaka maoli (indigenous Hawaiian) mother.
An ambrosia of Maui's talented movers, shakers and artists are showcased throughout the entire event featuring:
Fire flow arts, pole performances, live painting, community workshops (hosted in the bell tent), craft/food vendors, farm to table food/drink and gong fu tea service.
We encourage all expressions of creativity and character. Our venue is your canvas. Pull up as your avatar.
