Dark Clouds Ahead? Reflections on Major Policy Challenges facing Ireland While Ireland has done well on many fronts in recent years, navigating major challenges and achieving enviable economic performance, there are also dark clouds emerging.
The presentation will argue that the political establishment faces a complex set of difficulties in highly contentious areas that are not going away. These include defence and neutrality policy, immigration, reunification, climate change, industrial policy, infrastructure delays, the rise of the right and more. I will argue that the political and policy leaders will have to raise their game in a serious way.
