Wild Sodas and Kombucha
Kombucha—or fermented sweet tea—is an ancient health beverage with antioxidant and anti-microbial properties that may help regulate heart health, digestion, and liver health, as well as potentially providing anti-cancer benefits. Wild sodas, which are quite similar, are made from the natural yeast of foraged fruits, herbs, and flowers, creating natural carbonation from nature's gifts – not from a chemical process served up to you in a can!
In this class taught by Samyutkha, we will begin class with a kombucha and wild sosa tasting, where you will get to sample different flavors and have various snacks! During class, you will receive a SCOBY starter and instructional zine, learn how to make your own SCOBY, begin fermenting your own kombucha, formulate your unique kombucha recipe, and take home a flip-top bottle to continue fermentation and flavoring at home, and in 7-14 days, you’ll have a beautifully fermented kombucha! We will have green, white, and black teas available for fermentation!
We will also start the fermentation process of a wild soda from foraged plants, and you can take that home as well!
